| Any greyhound racing in grade CJ for four (4) consecutive starts that fails to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th, in those starts, shall be lowered to grade D.
Any greyhound, racing in grade D for six (6) consecutive starts that fails to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th, in those six starts, shall be dropped from further racing at this meeting.
Fall, met Interference, and grade T race lines will not count in lowering greyhounds from grade D or in eliminating greyhounds from further use.
The winner of a graded race shall be advanced one grade until reaching grade A. Maidens may run in graded races at the option of the kennel, provided they have qualified. After sufficient schooling, the Racing Secretary shall place the greyhounds in grades, taking into consideration the past performance from the other tracks as well as the schooling races at this track.
There will be five grades for experienced greyhounds. They shall be designated as grade A, B, C, CJ, and D. T races are mixed grade races.
Maidens are greyhounds whelped on a certain date who have never won an official race prior to this meeting. MG, or Maiden Grade, are non-betting races that, unlike schooling races, count in the grading system. Other than T races, greyhounds for the races shall be drawn from the same grade.
If, in the opinion of the Racing Secretary, a greyhound has been misgraded, he may lower it one grade at a time until such greyhound has finished as far up as 4th. |
